Kids Say the Darndest Things
My kids provide endless inspiration in my writing. But they keep me in stitches when they say hilarious things or just make honest observations of the world around them. Over the years I have jotted down their funniest quotes. Whenever we need a good belly laugh, we pull out the quotes and start reading our favorites. Today, I will share some family favorites. You might even read some of these in one of my books one day!
I wish you and me were sleeping on the moon. It would be cool to be next to the stars.
Ice cream is French for I want another bite!
I peed a rainbow!
My day was not good and lumpy.
“Papi, I’m hiding, and you have to find me. I gave you three farts as a clue.”
“Mama, I accidentally did something on purpose.”
“Can you pick me up, Mama? I can’t carry myself!”
Me: “Who are you?” Pointing to himself he said: “No! No!”
Me: “Are you happy?” and he replied, “No, I’m two!”
Me: “Are you going to go pee?” and he said, “Abso-NO!”
And to round things out: “I’m tired. I need to get back to the circus.”
